Z-type folding modules that fold flat to a fraction of their height for volume shipping and unfold with a forklift in minutes.
A folding container house (also called a Z-type folding house) is a complete 20ft module whose walls fold down onto the floor panel. Folded, a unit is only a fraction of its assembled height, so a 40HQ container carries far more modules than it would carry assembled or flat pack units — which is what makes folding houses the cheapest option per bed on large, repeat orders.
On site the unit is lifted by forklift or crane, the walls are unfolded and locked, the roof panel is fixed and the electrics are connected. A trained crew can bring a block of units into service in a day, without scaffolding and without a building foundation.
Folding houses trade some flexibility for shipping efficiency: internal partitions, sanitary pods and heavy joinery are limited compared with flat pack or expandable units. Tell us the bed count, whether bathrooms are inside or shared, the destination port and the electrical standard, and we will confirm which configuration the folding system can carry and what the loaded quantity per container will be.

20ft flat pack modules that ship knocked down, stack up to three storeys and bolt together on site with a light crane.
Double wing expandable modules that travel at a 20ft footprint and open into a full studio, one-bedroom or office layout on site.
Capsule and cabin modules with finished interiors for hospitality, glamping and premium site accommodation.
The four families differ mainly in how much factory work travels with the module. That single variable drives shipping cost, crane needs, assembly hours and the resale value of the unit.
Expandable and flat pack container houses ship in very different footprints, so the cheaper unit price is rarely the cheaper landed square metre. This guide compares floor area per shipped unit, unfolding, freight and labour.
Choosing between 20ft, 30ft and 40ft expandable container houses affects shipping cost, floor area and layout options. This guide compares shipped footprint, units per load, and typical configurations.
