Key features

Landmark shape

Pitched roof and timber-look cladding make the cabin read as architecture rather than a container.

Single or stacked

Pods can be used alone or stacked two high with an external staircase and balcony.

Fully fitted inside

Bed, wardrobe, kitchenette and shower room finished in the factory before shipment.

Deck mounted

No foundation needed for most sites — a levelled deck or pad is sufficient.

Two storeys, one crane lift each

Upper pod lands on the lower pod and bolts down; stair and balcony bolt on.

38 m² over two levels

Ground-floor living with an upstairs bedroom and balcony.

Overview

The double-storey apple cabin takes the single pod and stacks it, adding an external staircase and a first-floor balcony. Ground floor becomes living space with a glazed frontage; upper floor becomes a bedroom with a view. For camps, resorts and hospitality plots where land is limited and the building has to be the photograph guests share, it is the most efficient format we build.

How the two levels work

  • Ground floor: living area, kitchenette or reception, WC and shower pod
  • Upper floor: bedroom with balcony, wardrobe and a second WC where the layout allows
  • External staircase with timber treads, guardrail and a landing at the balcony door
  • Pitched roof over both pods, with the upper pod set back to create the balcony

Each pod is built and finished as a self-contained module: steel frame, insulated wall and roof panels, timber-look cladding outside, laminate flooring and painted board inside, aluminium windows and glass door, lighting, sockets and A/C. The stack connection, staircase and balcony are a separate structural package quoted with the pods.

Site requirements

The pair needs a level base — a concrete slab or a screw-pile foundation — sized to the combined footprint plus the staircase landing. Crane access is needed for the upper pod. Wind and snow loading are checked against the destination before the drawing is released; sites in exposed coastal or mountain locations may require additional tie-downs, which we price with the structure.

What we need to quote

Send the site plan, the number of keys, whether the ground floor is living space or reception, the destination port and the electrical standard. We reply with a two-level layout, a foundation note and a loading plan.
